Careful Technologies, Inc. ("Careful," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Careful mobile and web application. We provide AI-powered investment research and strategy tools to help everyday people invest smarter.

What Data We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Profile Data

During onboarding we collect your age range, country, investment goal, starting capital range, monthly contribution range, investment timeline, and experience level. This information is used entirely to personalize your experience with the Council.

Financial Data

We store your investment picks generated by the Council, your projection data, and your ticker history. This is the data that powers your weekly picks and ensures the Council never repeats a recommendation.

Chat Data

We store your conversation history with the Council to maintain context across sessions and improve your experience over time.

Payment Data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your access to the platform.

Technical Data

We may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and usage patterns. This helps us keep the platform running smoothly and improve the product over time.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

To provide the Careful service including generating your weekly picks, running your Council chat, calculating your projections, and managing your foundation strategy.

To personalize your experience. Your profile data is passed to the Council so every recommendation is built around your specific goals, capital, timeline, and experience level.

To process payments and manage your subscription status through Stripe.

To improve the product. We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand how people use Careful and make it better over time.

To understand where our community is growing. Country data is collected for internal analytics only and never used to change your experience in the app.

How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information from unauthorized access.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. Your information exists to serve you and improve your experience on Careful.

Third Parties We Work With

To deliver the Careful service we work with a small number of trusted third-party providers:

Stripe handles all payment processing. When you subscribe to Careful your card details go directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

OpenRouter powers the AI Council. Your profile data and investment context are sent to OpenRouter to generate your picks and Council chat responses. OpenRouter processes this data solely to deliver the service.

Supabase provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Your account and profile data is stored securely on Supabase's platform.

We require all third-party providers to handle your data securely and only for the purposes of delivering the Careful service.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data on Careful.

You can update your name, email, password, and investment profile at any time from the Account section of the app.

You can delete your account at any time from the Account section. Deleting your account permanently removes all of your data from our systems including your profile, picks, chat history, and ticker history. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.

You can contact us at contact@careful.help to request a copy of your data or ask any questions about how your information is handled.

Cookies

Careful uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. We do not use your data for retargeting or advertising purposes on any platform.

Children's Privacy

Careful is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account on Careful please contact us at contact@careful.help and we will remove the account immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the product evolves. When we make changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Careful after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
